The Loutrel Opens in Downtown Charleston

The Loutrel, a new 50-room luxury hotel, has opened its doors in downtown Charleston, SC. Inspired by the "Holy City’s" famed gardens, The Loutrel, managed by Charlestowne Hotels, offers a porch-inspired lobby and bar, private Clubroom reserved exclusively for hotel guests, rooftop terrace and lush biophilic-inspired design. Marrying Art Deco architecture with Southern charm, the hotel is just minutes from the neighborhood’s bustling King Street.

Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted by the Veranda Lounge with an expansive bronze and wood accented bar. Further tapping into the city’s heritage, a repurposed southern porch swing beckons, while an expansive painting by local artist Linda Fantuzzo, capturing the region’s landscape, anchors the room.

Accommodations include a mix of California king rooms, corner kings with views of the Ravenel Bridge or Charleston harbor, five suites and a premier suite, with many of the rooms offering balconies. All guestrooms are complete wth Matouk linens and towels, locally crafted Deep Steep bath amenities, Lavazza coffee, live botanicals and a color palette of blues and grays. Guests can also head for the fitness studio, which fofers a Peloton bike and Life Fitness equipment, or make use of the private dining room.

The Veranda Lounge brings the signature Charleston front porch experience inside with botanical-inspired cocktails made with locally sourced spirits and a Mediterranean-inspired food menu meant for sharing. Guests are greeted upon arrival with The Loutrel’s signature “Nice to Meet You” Swizzle cocktail, which draws inspiration from the Franco-Italian border. The “Finest Cocktail Hour” is celebrated daily at the Lounge, with a range of canapés and punch bowl cocktails. A complimentary European-style breakfast service with fresh local pastries, charcuterie and cheeses is served in the morning.

On the hotel’s mezzanine level, guests have access to a private Clubroom, which offers complimentary culinary treats throughout the day, from light fare and snacks to canapés and desserts. In the Clubroom, guests can also find a selection of always-available locally made treats, such as cookies from Grey Ghost Bakery and nectars from Les Hesperides, all of which are offered courtesy of the hotel.

On The Loutrel’s rooftop terrace, guests can take in views of The Ravenel Bridge and many of the historic steeples that give the "Holy City" its name, while enjoying signature cocktails and shareable bites from the Veranda Lounge’s menu delivered right to the terrace. Good to know: The rooftop is open exclusively to guests and their visitors. Additionally, the Clubroom, rooftop terrace and the private dining room off the Veranda Lounge are available to rent for private events. The Loutrel also offers full hotel buyout packages for groups.

During the “Finest Hour,” guests can enjoy access to unique Charleston experiences when staying at the hotel. Experiences include boating excursions on the Carolina Girl yacht, private tours of Charleston and custom picnics with Picnic Charleston, among others.

Deal: To celebrate its launch, the new hotel has introduced “Meet The Loutrel” offer, which includes overnight accommodations in a suite; suite decorated by floral design company syg designs; curated picnic with Picnic Charleston; private tour of Charleston led by the hotel’s own guide; floral gift delivered to the guest’s home upon return; and donation in the guest’s name to the Charleston Horticulture Society.
