The Luxury Collection Signs North Island in the Seychelles

The Luxury Collection announced its planned debut in the Seychelles with the signing of North Island, a private island resort. Located amongst the inner granitic islands of Seychelles, North Island is owned by the North Island Company Limited and is managed by ASMALLWORLD, becoming the organization’s first property of the ASW Hotel Collection. North Island, a Luxury Collection Resort, Seychelles is expected to officially join The Luxury Collection’s portfolio later this year.

Of the 11 villas, 10 are “Presidential Villas” that total nearly 5,000 square feet. These are set along Each Beach (with direct access) and each has its own private plunge pool, beachfront patio, day beds, Mac desktop computer, dining area and more. Villa 11 (Villa North Island) totals 8,000 square feet is set at the end of the beach, offering the most privacy. It has many of the same features as the other villas.

The property also has a lounge, dining room, state-of-the-art spa and gym, infinity pool and sunset bar and restaurant located on the western side of the island. North Island’s Library offers the opportunity for guests to learn about the destination’s natural history. Note: The Library will also host immersive marine life presentations and environmental programs.

Each room features local materials, including wood, local stone and glass—all of which are handcrafted by Seychellois and African artisans.

North Island offers immersive experiences and opportunities for guests to explore the island. Activities include scuba diving, sea kayaking, boating, fishing, yoga, snorkeling and more. 

North Island is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Mahe Island, the main and largest island in the Seychelles. Arriving at the property is tailored for guests, with the property also being a 15-minute helicopter transfer or a one-hour boat trip from Mahe Island.

In other news from The Luxury Collection, the brand made its debut in Savannah with the opening of Perry Lane, expanded its footprint in Paris through Hôtel de Berri, brought distinct resort design to Los Cabos with Solaz, opened its first hotel in Jordan with Al Manara and introduced a property on the trendy Japanese island Okinawa. The Luxury Collection anticipates debuting nine properties this year in locations such as Cesme, Buckinghamshire and Budapest.
