Luxury Firm Acquires Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo

Gencom, a Miami-based international luxury hospitality and residential real estate investment and development firm, announced the acquisition of Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo by a Gencom affiliate, Papagayo Partners Ltd., in conjunction with local real estate developer Sinergo Development Group S.A.

This acquisition follows the August 2016 purchase of the 1,400-acre Peninsula Papagayo and Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica; it's the second resort investment for the new ownership on Peninsula Papagayo, a resort and residential area in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica.

The acquisition is also a sign of the group’s plan to preserve Peninsula Papagayo. Key developments include new capital improvements to Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo plus a major renovation of Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica.

The peninsula-wide transformation currently underway at Peninsula Papagayo will be supplemented by a series of improvements at Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo beginning this fall. A new Andaz Beach House will open in late 2017 on Peninsula Papagayo’s Nacascolo Beach which will have a locally inspired food and drink menu as well as stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, beach bikes and jet-skis.

Access to the Andaz Beach House will be via shuttle or by water taxi from the resort. Additional enhancements will encompass the resort’s three dining venues, poolside bar service, fitness center, guest mobility offerings and meeting spaces.

The Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo is a 153-room and suite property with 28 oceanfront acres overlooking the Bay of Culebra on Peninsula Papagayo. Rooms offer both ocean and jungle views and guests can dine at three Latin American-influenced restaurants with open-kitchen concepts. Also on the property are three beaches, separate adult and family pools, a spa with six indoor and three outdoor treatment rooms, event and meeting space with ocean-view gazebo, 24 hour fitness center, and Kids Club.
