Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London to Reopen Fully on April 15

At long last, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is set to show off the makeover that was dogged by delays after a fire broke out in June 2018. It’s being billed as “the most extensive restoration in the hotel’s 117-year history” and by the looks of the photos on social media, there’s a lot to look forward to.

When the curtain rises on the renovated guest rooms and suites on April 15, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park will officially and fully reopen. The luxury hotel already unveiled its public areas in December 2018. Just in time for the holidays, Londoners could scope out the transformed Lobby Lounge, The Rosebery tearoom, event spaces, along with London hot spots Bar Boulud and two Michelin star restaurant Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.

There’s been a lot of buzz about the new enlarged spa, kitted out with 13 treatment rooms, an amethyst crystal steam room, a sanarium and a vitality pool. Mandarin Oriental has teamed up with Nescens, the Swiss brand that uses medical expertise on cellular ageing, to offer new treatments including the Better-Ageing Body Massage and 3-In-1 Slimming, Shaping and Anti-Cellulite.

What to look forward to next month: The 141 renovated rooms and 40 suites will show off a new look by designer Joyce Wang, who took inspiration from the park location and the glamour of the “golden age of travel.” In-room highlights include sprawling marble bathrooms and, in the suites, libraries curated by London bookseller Heywood Hill. Notably there will be two brand new penthouse suites. To celebrate, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has rolled out the “Be the First to Stay” package, valid for stays between April 15 and June 30, priced from £659 (approximately $868), which includes accommodations, breakfast, a bottle of Champagne and a daily hotel credit.
