Men's Spa Treatments on the Rise

While typically a day of spa-ing was more female focused, new trends are showing that men want in on the action. Spa Finder Wellness' annual Spa and Wellness Report has named men's spa treatments as one of the top trends to watch in 2013.

Here's a look at some of the spas that are offering spa treatments that are strictly for dudes.

The Dolder Grand in Zurich is helping men travelers relax with the Gentleman's Spa World package. Available through December 2013, men enjoy a two-night stay at the Dolder Grand, a martini cocktail at the bar, three-course dinner at the Garden Restaurant and three spa treatments at the resort's spa. The package includes the Facial 60-minute Les Hommes by Kerstin Florian, the 60-minute Detoxifying Back Treatment by La Prairie and a 60-minute personal training session, which includes indoor and outdoor activities from biking to jogging.

The Lodge at Doonbeg in Ireland is offering the Pre Golf Massage at the White Horses Spa. The package is focused on specific areas used during a round of golf to avoid injury while playing. For those that prefer to relax after golf, men can try the Elemis for Him Facial which is a booster for tired, stressed skin.

The Spa at Omni Mount Washington Resort offers a variety of treatments for men, including the Golfer's/Skier's Massage, which features trigger-point therapy, deep tissue massage and assisted stretching targeting major muscle groups used in a golf swing or hitting the slopes. The spa also offers a Gentlemen's Facial which uses products created with consideration for men's skin exposed to shaving and outdoor sporst.

After a round of golf at one of eight championship golf courses surrounding The Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, guests can relax at the Sawgrass Spa offering a variety of treatments just for men. The 50 or 80-minute Sports Massage nourishes ligaments and joints while relieving muscular tension, pain and discomfort. An herbal remedy of arnica, eucalyptus and menthol is used to penetrate deep into tight areas while assisted stretching and deep compressions aid in muscle recovery. Men can also book treatments like Foot Reflexology to help improve circulation while promoting balance and full body wellness.

After a long day of golfing at the Golden Eagle Golf Course, the Tides Inn spa is helping men to recuperate with the Chesapeake Golfers Recovery Package. The two-hour journey allows men to choose either a massage with heat therapy and arnica lotion to improve circulation and aid muscle recovery or a facial that will leave him feeling relaxed and restored. After their treatment of choice, men can enjoy a 60-minute pedicure to relax their feet after a long day of golfing.
