Metropolitan London Offers an Escape From City Stress

Shambhala Urban Escape

The COMO Group focuses on Christina Ong's unique vision of contemporary living, which combines healthful food, Asian-inspired therapies, and specialist consultants. COMO Shambhala, sister brand to COMO Hotels and Resorts, promotes health, relaxation, and learning through products, services, cuisine, treatments, and spa facilities.

Metropolitan London, part of COMO Hotels, offers a variety of relaxation inducing solutions to combat post-flight fatigue:

The Red Eye Package features early room access at 11:00am (instead of the usual 2:00pm) and a relaxing visit to COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, Metropolitan London's new full-service spa centered around results-driven wellness. Guests can shower and unwind before enjoying a 60-minute COMO Shambhala Massage to improve circulation and reduce muscle tension. The spa also provides a special breakfast tray, either in the COMO Shambhala Urban Escape or in the privacy of the guest room. The package costs approximately $155 (99 GBP) per person and reservations must be received at least 24 hours before arrival.

The "Met Pod" is an alternative to early check-in, where guests have access to a daybed, TV (which doubles as a computer), complimentary Wi-Fi, a Nespresson machine, complimentary soft drinks from the mini bar, and a sink for freshening up. There is also a shower adjacent to the pod. The "Met Pod" costs approximately $120 (75 GBP) and is available either in the morning or afternoon for those departing late in the day.

For ultimate relaxation after a long flight, guests can take advantage of in-room yoga. Every guest room is equipped with a yoga mat and access to a 24/7 yoga TV channel. COMO Shambhala Cuisine is also available via room service, featuring an Asian-influenced menu with an emphasis on raw foods. Menu items include energy-boosting fare such as Fresh Fruit Salad with Ginger Syrup and Mango Sorbet.
