New Happenings at Le Bristol Paris

Oetker Collection’s Le Bristol Paris is buzzing ahead of summer. From the new pasta atelier and the opportunity for in-suite dining with an original Picasso, to a curated shopping experience at La Boutique du Bristol, there’s a lot in store for those visiting this season.

Up first, Le Bristol Paris has launched an in-house pasta lab to complement its existing ateliers. After the successful introduction of a traditional mill and bakery, a chocolate factory, a cheese cave and a wine cellar, Michelin-starred Executive Chef Eric Frechon has introduced a pasta laboratory named Il Pastificio, as his fifth atelier of the hotel. Frechon appointed Cristina Ternullo, who works with ancient heritage wheats that are blended and milled into the perfect texture of flour by the bakery team in Le Bristol’s own flour mill. Foodies visiting this summer can sample the homemade pasta in signature dishes in the hotel’s restaurants: Epicure, 114 Faubourg and Café Antonia.

Completing a top-to-bottom redesign of its Signature Suites, Le Bristol Paris has revealed the new Azur Terrace Suite on the fifth floor. Offering a 1,238-square-foot, tree-lined terrace, the Azur Terrace Suite has been transformed to showcase the work of Agnès Sandahl, a French artist and ceramicist, against a backdrop of interiors by two of the hotel’s owners, Narcisa and Elvira Oetker. Three Sandahl paintings join a fresco, also by the artist, using Chinese ink and gold leaf. Outside the 1,076-square-foot suite is the terrace, for which Sandahl has also created a custom ceramic fountain and ceramic tabletop that accommodates up to six.

Le Bristol Paris has also teamed up with Opera Gallery to mark the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death this year with a creative tribute. The hotel’s “Breakfast with Picasso” experience includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe Junior Suite, with a breakfast the next morning, served in-suite facing a Picasso masterpiece. The artwork chosen for this exclusive viewing is Picasso’s 1931 oil painting, “Maison à Juan-Les-Pins,” which was created during a summer holiday spent in Juan-Les-Pins on the French Riviera. The painting depicts the historic Villa Chêne Roc, built in 1880, where Picasso once lived. This private viewing holds special significance for Oetker Collection because Picasso was a regular guest at sister hotel, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, where he produced 23 paintings and 44 drawings.

La Boutique du Bristol will also welcome its first pop-up dedicated to sister property, Eden Rock - St Barths. The lobby boutique is showcasing a selection of items that are also available at its St Barths counterpart, the Eden Rock Boutique. Women’s dresses and beachwear by Zimmermann sit alongside sandals and accessories by De Siena; summer hats by Maison Michel join essentials for men by Orlebar Brown, including limited-edition swim shorts created for Le Bristol Paris and sold only at the Palace and in Orlebar Brown’s Parisian boutiques. There is also a selection of Eden Rock - St Barths lifestyle products.

Beyond that, Le Bristol Paris and Kos Paris have joined hands to create a body cream inspired by the hotel’s blooming Le Jardin Français. The new Le Jardin Français body cream joins the existing collection of beauty oils and pillow mists by Kos Paris. It also includes in a new spa treatment at Spa Le Bristol by La Prairie.

Lastly, Le Bristol Paris has partnered with American heritage textile house, Schumacher, and designer Marie-Caroline Willms, founder of Marbella-based EMCI Design Studio to restyle Le Jardin Français. The seat cushions at the garden tables are adorned in the hotel’s signature pale green, in a check print with geometric motifs that reflect the green trellises lining the courtyard. Decorative pillows feature red stripes in a nod to Le Bristol Paris’ awnings, as well as a red floral pattern that will also feature on the new uniforms for the Café Antonia team.
