New Rolls-Royce Experiences at Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul

Been to Istanbul lately? From art to nightlife, there’s always something new to discover in this millennia-old metropolis. (Starting with your gateway into Turkey: The new $12 billion international airport is slated to become the world’s largest hub with an annual passenger capacity of 200 million.) To offer guests a unique taste of this beguiling city, the Shangri-La Bosphorus recently rolled out a portfolio of exclusive urban experiences via Rolls-Royce.

The luxury hotel is the first in Istanbul to have its own Rolls-Royce; the Ghost limousine has a professional chauffeur to take guests on spins around town. The idea with the new bespoke experiences was “to unlock the best of Istanbul for both first-time visitors and travelers returning to the city,” according to the press release.

Here’s a look. “Lunch on the Bosphorus” includes a one-hour drive in the Rolls-Royce Ghost along the coastline from Beşiktaş to the medieval Rumelihisarı fortress, with a stop for lunch at a popular seafood restaurant in the neighborhood. “Tour of Two Continents” takes guests from Europe to Asia across the 1,704-meter-long Bosphorus Bridge, with various pit stops (traditional Turkish coffee, anyone?). “Shop in Comfort” follows an itinerary designed by the Shangri-La’s expert concierge team, complete with a handicrafts tour through the Grand Bazaar. Last but not least: the “Shisha Hopping Tour” includes three VIP experiences at shisha cafés along the Bosphorus.

Prices for the packages start from around $558, and each experience has a four- to six-hour duration.
