The Pavilions Madrid Officially Opens in Spain

Independent boutique hospitality brand, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, has opened its first property in Spain, The Pavilions Madrid, establishing a third location for the brand portfolio in Europe. The hotel offers guests the experience of staying in an art gallery with a selection of works by acclaimed local artists adorning the common spaces, guest rooms and suites.

The Pavilions Madrid has partnered with the capital city’s Alvaro Alcazar Gallery, which presents the works of contemporary artists from its space on Castelló Street. The hotel has an exhibition space where guests can enjoy contemporary art pieces, some of which are specially created for the hotel and are also available for purchase. Select pieces include works by Spanish artists, Rafael Canogar and Guillem Nadal. This focus on the arts is to provide guests unique cultural experiences.

The Pavilions Madrid is well-located for guests looking to explore the capital's main museums and art galleries, as well as those interested in traveling beyond the conventional tourist points. Located on Amador de los Ríos Street, right next to Plaza de Colón and near Paseo de la Castellana, the property resides in the residential neighborhood of Chamberi. The area is home to museums, boutiques, gardens, cafés and popular restaurants. The shops on Calle Serrano are just a few steps away and The Prado Museum, Plaza Mayor and El Retiro Park are a 20-minute ride.

The property underwent a refurbishment with more than $1 million invested in the project. The renovation was carried out by Constructora Zimenta, a company that specializes in unique construction projects, with designs created by Rome-based Studio Marincola Architects.

The opening of The Pavilions Madrid is part of an expansion plan across Europe and Asia for The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts. In addition to Madrid, the brand’s European destinations include The First Roma by The Pavilions in Rome and The Toren by The Pavilions in Amsterdam, as well as a new property in Lisbon scheduled to open in 2020.
