The Peninsula Beverly Hills has been the face of luxury in this high-end hood for two decades.
In celebration of its 20 years, the hotel is undergoing an extensive renovation of its 36 rooms and 16 garden villas.
We hear the rooms have been updated with classic furnishings and printed fabrics (think garden-prints and neutral-patterned carpeting). The old armoires concealing televisions were replaced with Juparana granite-topped credenzas mounted with 42- to 50-inch flat screen televisions. Canopied beds were reshaped with a softer profile, as well.
The villas, which sit tucked in the tropical gardens, will debut in the fall. They will sport new furnishings, carpeting and wall coverings as well as redesigned fireplaces (think limestone hearths and carved-wood Louis XV-style mantles).
