The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Reopens After Renovations

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has reopened following extensive renovations. The reopening coincided with the 16th anniversary of the hotel opening its doors in the Cayman Islands. Champalimaud Design has "reimagined" the interiors, blending modern coastal and mid-century British-Caribbean styles. The renovated spaces reflect an updated color palette, while textured inlays and borders accentuate the Neoclassical architecture.

The lobby lounge is enclosed behind ebonized wood arches. The guestrooms and suites nod to the destination’s history with the rugged British West Indian style while paying homage to the island with purposefully chosen artworks, fixtures and rich natural textures. The incorporation of indigenous and inspired materials further connects guests to Cayman. Retaining its spirit, the resort’s iconic Silver Palm Lounge has entirely new interiors and a custom-built hardwood cabinet, which will offer guests a collection of indulgent discoveries from rare rums to premium hand-rolled cigars of the Caribbean, besides chocolates created from the region’s finest cacao.

A collection of commissioned and curated local artwork shows a deeper connection with the culture, history and creativity of Cayman with the goal of creating an immersive experience for guests. Complementing the public art collection is The Gallery, the longstanding art exhibition space, which has represented the resort’s connection to its community and its seascapes and heritage for many years through the work of talented artists. The space will continue to highlight Grand Cayman’s vibrant visual arts culture, enhancing the guests’ journey as they transition from the Resort Tower to the Ocean Tower.

Good to know: The resort’s meeting spaces were updated as well, including the pre-function area and the ballroom.
