The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe Offers Golf Getaway With Hall of Famer

For the third year, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will bring in World Golf Hall of Fame member Annika Sorenstam to offer members of The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Program an exclusive golf weekend getaway on July 21–23.

Guests will have the opportunity to socialize with and receive coaching from Sorenstam during the event weekend, which includes a two-night stay at the resort, a round of golf at the Old Greenwood Golf Course in Truckee, CA, hosted lunch, and round-trip transportation to all activities. Additionally, this year, Annika will host a private reception for members at the resort’s new Lake Club, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, which will debut in June.

Set among 600 acres near North Lake Tahoe, the Old Greenwood golf course has been rated among the 10 Best New Public Access Courses in the Country by Golf Magazine, and rated number four among America’s Finest New Upscale Public Courses by Golf Digest.

The Annika Golf Weekend is available for $1,499 (plus taxes) for double occupancy, and includes:

  • Two nights’ accommodation in a Deluxe King Guest Room at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe
  • Private reception on Friday evening with Sorenstam at the resort’s new exclusive Lake Club
  • 90-minute golf clinic on Saturday with Sorenstam at the Old Greenwood Golf Course
  • 18-holes of golf (per participant)
  • Golf cart and practice balls
  • Gourmet boxed lunch at the course
  • Round-trip transportation to and from Lake Club and the resort

On Sorenstam: During her 15-year Hall of Fame career, Sorenstam totalled 89 worldwide professional victories, including 72 LPGA wins, 10 of which are Major Championships. She is the only female to break 60 in an official tournament, garnering her the nickname, “Mrs. 59.”  Annika became the first woman in 58 years to compete in a PGA TOUR event in the 2003 Bank of America Colonial. She is the LPGA’s all-time leading money winner with over $22 Million in earnings.
