Rocco Forte’s Hotel de la Ville Unveils New Spa in Rome

Rocco Forte Hotels debuted their second property in Rome in May 2019. With sweeping city views from its perch atop the Spanish Steps, Hotel de la Ville was designed by Tommaso Ziffer in collaboration with Olga Polizzi, director of design for Rocco Forte Hotels. Cielo, the rooftop bar, draws the cool crowd for cocktails with sunset views. And now there’s another star attraction. Health and wellness are a key aspect of all 12 European hotels in the Rocco Forte portfolio, from Edinburgh to Berlin, and in keeping in line with this philosophy, Hotel de la Ville recently unveiled a new wellness center called De La Ville Spa.

Scented with orange blossom and designed with living plant walls and other natural materials, the spa takes its inspiration from the landscapes of Sicily. It comprises nearly 6,000 square feet. There are five single treatment rooms and a double suite with a Rasul for Sicilian mud rituals. The thermal area comes with a Mediterranean salt room, a sauna, a steam room, an ice fountain, Kneipp foot baths, a hydro pool and a plunge pool. Videos of nature are projected in the relaxation room, where you’ll find infra-red heated loungers.

The spa treatments incorporate products from just-launched Irene Forte Skincare, a sustainable line handmade in Italy with organic products grown at the Verdura Resort. Irene Forte is Rocco Forte’s wellness director, and the Sicily-inspired products are said to the “Mediterranean diet for your skin.” De La Ville Spa also showcases Pietro Simone Skincare for anti-aging rituals, and devices like Endosphères Eva and Endosphères Body for advanced facials and body treatments.

Note that the wellness facility also includes a 24-hour fitness center, stocked with Technogym equipment and a studio for Barrecore, Pilates and yoga classes. Guests can also take part in yoga sessions on the rooftop, and enlist a meditation guru for tips on mindfulness and meditation lessons.
