The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa Offers Tours of The Great West Way

Five-star luxury hotel The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has announced a partnership with England’s new multi-modal touring route, The Great West Way. To enhance the touring route, the hotel has also partnered with Around & About Bath to create curated experiences that showcase for guests Bath and the surrounding region.

The Great West Way

The Great West Way offers travelers tours through some of England’s cities, countryside, market towns and chocolate-box villages. It is a way to explore both heritage and contemporary English culture—a combination of the past and the present.

The touring route follows a 125-mile route through six counties, from London to Bristol, encompassing 500 miles of navigable routes along the Thames, Kennet and Avon Canal, the Great Western Railway, the A4, and numerous walking and bike trails. It can be traveled by road, bicycle, rail, canalboat or on foot.

The Great West Way features: Three UNESCO sites (Avebury and Bath; Kew Gardens; and Stonehenge), Three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (the Cotswolds, the Chilterns, and North Wessex Downs), and England’s most iconic attractions, including Bath’s Royal Crescent, Stonehenge, Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle.

The Great West Way was based on one of the first Great Roads commissioned by the Kings of England. It is designed to provide a way for curious travelers who are searching for the “real England” to explore further and deeper to uncover that essence.

Around & About Bath Tours

To further promote offerings of The Great West Way, the Hotel has partnered with Around & About Bath to offer curated experiences for its guests. From working with a swordsmith or one of England’s best butchers, to discovery of the largest prehistoric site in England, postcard villages and Cotswold towns, each experience showcases the culture, landscapes, people and history of Bath.

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa is located in the heart of Bath’s The Royal Crescent (also a UNESCO World Heritage site).
