The Siam to Open in Bangkok This Fall

TheSiam

This fall, Bangkok will welcome its newest luxury hotel: The Siam, a 2.8-acre all-suite property to be located in the royal Dusit district of Bangkok.

The Siam was conceived by owner and Thai celebrity, Krissada Sukosol Clapp, together with acclaimed architect, interior and landscape designer Bill Bensley. Its architecture will draw inspiration from Paris’ Musée d’Orsay and the Art Deco era.

The property, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, will feature 16 Siam (standard) or 12 Mae Nam (river view) Suites in the Main Residence, as well as 10 Private Pool Villas with a Thai, Chinese or Colonial ambiance. Clients may also opt to dine or stay in one of four traditional, Thai teakwood houses brought to Bangkok by Jim Thompson from the ancient capital of Ayutthaya for his socialite friend and fellow antique collector, Connie Mangskau. These Siamese homes, balanced on stilts, hosted an array of cosmopolitan characters in their heyday, including Jacqueline Kennedy.

Other on-site amenities and features include a spa and hammam; a period-style library; a state-of-the-art screening room; a  meeting room; a gym; an outdoor yoga sala; an art gallery; an antique gift shop; a riverside infinity swimming pool with Jacuzzi beds and a poolside bar; an authentic Thai restaurant with a cooking school in Connie’s houses; a Deco jazz bar with 24-hour international dining; a conservatory with roof garden; a private pier with a Thai barge and luxury speedboat for cruising; a classic coffee house; and numerous gardens.

The Siam is located approximately 45 minutes from Suvarnabhumi airport, and is 20 minutes away from the city’s main shopping artery at Siam Paragon.
