Swanky New Bar & Terrance Opens at The Berkeley

London has a new hot spot. The Berkeley, the five-star landmark hotel in Knightsbridge, has opened a jaw-dropping new space, The Berkeley Bar & Terrace, to enjoy hand-crafted cocktails, wines, spirits and cigars, along with epic nibbles.

Conceived by top Irish interior designer Bryan O’Sullivan, the intimate 40-seat venue wows with a half-moon shaped marble bar, gorgeous woodwork and Brutlalist details, evoking a mix of old world glamour and chic sexy modernity in equal measure. We adore The Snug, a nine seat booth tucked away from the main bar, which can be reserved for private parties, and the leafy terrace with four tables overlooking neighboring St. Paul’s Church.

The Berkeley Bar has a curated menu of rare wines, champagne and dark spirits. Old-time and modern classic cocktails, such as the Sazerac and the Corpse Reviver are featured on the menu, along with spirits from under-the-radar producers, such as Japanese whiskey maker Ichiro, tequila producer Fortaleza and rum maker Trois Rivières. For cigar lovers, there’s a finely edited selection for enjoyment on the terrace.

The food menu includes small plates with dishes such as Cornish crab and lobster beignets, Iberico ham toast with manchego, apricot and salsa verde, and camembert chicken tulips, alongside classic caviar and oyster dishes.

Opening hours for The Berkeley Bar & Terrace are 4 p.m. – 1 a.m., Monday to Saturday. The bar has a no-reservations policy, except for The Snug. The Snug has a £2,500 minimum for three hours and can be booked by contacting Restaurant Manager Raffel di Monaco by email [email protected].

Managed by the Maybourne Hotel Group, The Berkeley has been a fixture in Knightsbridge since 1897.  Now an urban oasis, the recently refurbished property has 203 rooms and designer suites; amenities include a rooftop pool with views of Hyde Park, the Bamford Hayburn organic spa and health club, Michelin-starred cuisine from Marcus Wareing and Instagrammer delights of fashionable afternoon tea Prêt-à-Portea in the Collins Room and cocktails in The Blue Bar.
