Velas Resorts in Mexico has announced a range of festive activities, special promotions and experiences for the holiday season. Guests can enjoy everything from in-suite Christmas trees and traditional Mexican posadas to Santa arriving by helicopter and gingerbread mansions. Holiday celebrations are on tap across Velas’ family-friendly Grand Velas resorts in Los Cabos, Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit, as well as at Velas Vallarta and the adults-only properties, Casa Velas, Mar del Cabo and the new Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos. For bookings made from October 15 through November 15, guests can enjoy a range of perks, including spa and resort credits, suite upgrades, discounts on golf and shopping and photography sessions, depending on the property. The travel window is open from December 15 through January 4 to use eligible promotions.
Throughout the holiday season, Velas Resorts will offer a range of family-friendly activities, including themed shows, gingerbread decoration and traditional Mexican posadas. At Grand Velas Los Cabos, Santa arrives via helicopter, while at Velas Vallarta, Santa parachutes in for a grand entrance. Teens will enjoy dedicated lounges with Xbox Kinect, karaoke, and special activities like dance classes and TikTok challenges. Younger guests can engage in interactive cultural workshops, including painting of the brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures known as Alebrijes and piñata making at the complimentary Kids’ Clubs.
Guests can also bring the festive spirit into their suites with pre-decorated Christmas trees or the option to decorate as a family, where they will be provided with all the ornaments and trimmings needed to create their own holiday tree. In-suite Christmas trees can be booked at https://christmas.velasresorts.com. Handcrafted ornaments from Michoacán, renowned for its Christmas traditions, are available for guests to take home. Pre-wrapped gifts and toys can also be arranged for in-suite delivery on Christmas morning, all conveniently ordered online before arrival. For those looking to give back, guests can donate toys to the Center for the Caring of Children with Cancer.
Each Velas Resorts’ property offers exclusive holiday promotions. Grand Velas Riviera Maya provides a $50 spa credit per adult, per night, and a lifestyle photography session. Grand Velas Los Cabos and Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos offer the same spa credit and 10 percent off at the hotel boutique. At Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, the $50 spa credit is available for both adults and teens, along with 10 percent off at the resort’s boutique. Additionally, kids and teens are two for the price of one during the week of Christmas (December 18-26, 2024). Velas Vallarta offers reduced festive rates, a $300 resort credit per suite, per stay, 20 percent off at the hotel boutique, early check-in or late check-out, complimentary hotel-airport transfers, up to 30 percent off on golf rounds, and a Kawitu Experience Tour, including visits to a chocolate factory, Mexican jeweler, and the Malecón, followed by a tequila tasting and a traditional Kawitu ritual with a Huichol shaman to foster a connection with nature and spiritual harmony.
