The anticipated Miami Beach Edition opens today. This is Ian Schrager’s second hotel in Miami.
His new resort sits between South and North Beach on over three acres of oceanside land.
The resort has restaurants, shopping and nightlife options all within the complex. There are also non-traditional entertainment experiences like a neon-lit bowling alley and an indoor ice skating rink. There are various eateries on the property serving different style cuisine, but the main restaurant, the Matador Room, serves Latin dishes and custom cocktails.
Guests have various accommodations to choose from, including a bungalow style room with private outdoor space. Some of the bungalow style rooms have plunge pools. There is also a 2,300-square-foot penthouse with an outdoor terrace.
The resort hopes to attract not just beach goers and vacationers but also those traveling to Miami for business. A 10,000-square-foot multi-use conference area was built with the ability to host media events and corporate retreats, utilizing both indoor and outdoor space.
