Jerusalem to Host Sounds of the Old City Festival

Looking for a unique cultural event in Jerusalem? The fourth Sounds of the Old City Festival is slated to run March 9 to 12, with top local musicians showing off their skills.

Visitors and locals alike will be able to hear rare performances by bands and ensembles performing authentic music both on stage and in the streets of the Old City quarters. Each band and ensemble will play music unique to the quarter in which it performs: an authentic Armenian celebration will be held in the Armenian Quarter, traditional music will be played in the Muslim Quarter, the Christian Quarter will be the scene of a celebration of liturgical works and Israeli and Klezmer music will be played in the Jewish Quarter.

The festival will be set up along a circular route starting at the Jaffa Gate and weaving through the Armenian, Jewish, Muslim and Christian quarters ending back at the Jaffa Gate.

Bonus: The festival is free of charge.
