John Allanson Named New General Manager of Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort

John Allanson, formerly of the five-star property Six Senses Con Dao Resort and Spa, has been named the new General Manager of Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort. Allanson, who will report to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Outrigger’s Hawaiian corporate office Paul Richardson, brings with him 30 years of experience in hotel and resort management in the Maldives, Vietnam and the UK.

A UK native, Allanson spent much of his career as a general manager or in senior management positions, including food and beverage, in various high-end UK country hotels, many with spa facilities. Previously, Allanson spent two years as the Resort Manager in the Maldives at the Six Senses Laamu Resort and Spa, a property with 97 villas.

The new general manager received a scholarship to the General Manager’s Program at Cornell University where he also earned a diploma in Management Studies. He’s also a graduate of the international Management Association as well as a member of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association.

Richardson said, “John’s leadership in hotel and resort operations in Asia and UK will help Outrigger take our acclaimed hotel operations in the Maldives from good to great.”
