Pierre Barthes Appointed New General Manager at Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai

Pierre Barthes has been appointed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to take the position of General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai, starting on January 1, 2012. Barthes is currently the General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, where he has held the position for the past four years. He is a French native with more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. He started as a Food & Beverage Director at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s Hawaiian property in 1998 and has subsequently held many senior management positions within various U.S. and Asian hotels.

Frank Stocek, General Manager of Elbow Beach, Bermuda, will be succeeding Pierre Barthes as the General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. He has worked for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group since 1983, having also held several senior management positions, before being appointed to Bermuda in 2001.
