Bali is about to get a big new luxury property: Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is set to make its official debut in Ubud September 5.
Named after the entrance to a traditional Hindu temple, the third bespoke resort in the Ritz-Carlton portfolio is set along the Ayung River. The property will offer individually tailored spiritual, wellness, health and detox programs, complemented by the fulltime personalized attention of a dedicated Patih, or butler.
For accommodations, expect 35 suites and 25 private pool villas, with contemporary Balinese interiors by Jeffrey Wilkes (of Asia-based DESIGNWILKES fame) -- think natural and locally sourced materials in a layout design to flow with the surrounding nature.
Mandapa will have four restaurants and lounges offering Indonesian cuisine, Mediterranean dining and health-conscious menus. Dining Beyond will give guests the chance to dine in special locations within the reserve from a menu tailor-made for each guest.
The Spa at Mandapa will offer a wellness and lifestyle program based on six pillars – Balinese Spa, Detox & Nutrition, Alternative Therapy, Body Therapy, and Healing. The spa will have eight treatment rooms, both ESPA and local spa products, and a fitness center, sauna, riverfront yoga studio, vitality pool and relaxation areas.
An organic garden, farm, and an educational Kid’s Hut are tucked away from the rest of the resort. There children will be able to take part in nature-based educational activities produced in partnership with The Green School in Bali.
