Open Today: Hotel Missoni Kuwait

Hotel Missoni Kuwait

We’ve been counting down the days and now it’s finally here. After much anticipation, Hotel Missoni Kuwait opens today, bringing a new kind of luxury lifestyle hotel to the Middle East. Fans of the Edinburgh property understand the cool factor. It’s not just about the stunning interior design. (Creative Director Rosita Missoni combined the fashion brand’s bold signature prints with a palette of gold, turquoise and beige inspired by the surrounding beaches and blues of the Arabian Sea. Over 85 different shades of color were used!) The hotel champions a new type of hospitality where guests are pampered with all-inclusive amenities like Wifi, in-room movies, and mini-bar items.

The 169-room Hotel Missoni Kuwait is part of Kuwait City’s exclusive Symphony Center - a boutique emporium in the main shopping district. Overlooking the sea, the hotel’s 18 floors are decorated with iconic design pieces, some of which Rosita has in her own home, like Hans J. Wegner’s Wishbone Chair. Guests will also notice the large mosaic urns in the lobby, signature pieces found in all Missoni hotels. Get this: To recreate the Missoni zig-zag stripes throughout the hotel, including the swimming pool’s tiled floor, artisans used over 10 million individual mosaic tiles.

Top digs: All rooms come with Illy coffee machines, top-notch technology (like mirror TVs in the bathrooms), and exclusive bath products with a custom Missoni fragrance. But to really splash out book the 2,260-square-foot Presidential Suite for its sprawling terrace overlooking the Kuwait City skyline and sparkling Arabian Gulf.

The Italian restaurant called Cucina will present a menu of fresh and authentic dishes, while Luna restaurant will serve up outstanding views from its perch on the 18th floor. As it’s a soft opening, not all the facilities are open. The much-anticipated spa operated by Six Senses will be unveiled later this spring.

Your clients will be in good hands. Hotel Missoni Kuwait will be staffed by over 17 nationalities (including 25 Italians) capable of speaking over 14 languages.
