The Sanya Edition, the latest addition to Ian Schrager’s Edition brand, is now open on Hainan Island, off the coast of southern China.
The oceanfront destination is set within 50 acres of tropical greenery and has a 20,000 square meter private ocean overlooking the South China Sea. There are 512 residential-style guest rooms, including 46 suites and an additional 17 villas on a terraced hillside, each of which has a private pool and private outdoor space. All guest rooms have ocean views.
For dining Market at Edition serves a menu that reference’s Sanya’s history as a trading port, while The Jade Egret series up cocktails, craft beers and premium wines to pair with a selection of appetizers, including Peking duck pancakes, hand rolls or small plates inspired by Spanish tapas.
There is also a poolside rooftop bar with an open-plan layout designed to promote socializing, plus a lifestyle shop co-curated by UCCA (Ullens Center for Contemporary Art) Beijing and Steven Giles of Miami Edition.
