Insight Vacations has welcomed Willie Montano as its new vice president of marketing. In this position he will lead all marketing efforts for the Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold brands in the United States. Starting March 6, Montano will work from the company’s office in Rye, New York, and report to Insight’s president, Phil Cappelli.
“We are excited to have Willie join Insight,” Capelli said. “He brings strong marketing experience and incredible enthusiasm to the position. He is also a great fit with our team. Willie understands the importance of our travel agency partner relationships and I look forward to watching him take our marketing to the next level.”
Prior to joining Insight, Montano served as the VP of marketing at CIE Tours, one of the top 50 niche tour operators in North America. At CIE Tours, he created the first well-categorized advertising budget, introduced social media, forged relationships with tourist boards and developed sales in emerging markets such as Canada and Australia.
Montano holds a reputation in the industry as a problem solver, tactful negotiator and a calm leader eager to embrace change and the future. “This new position has great responsibilities,” Montano said. “It offers a grand opportunity to continue to demonstrate my marketing abilities and my passion to inspire people and travel.”
Some of Montano’s professional accomplishments include: being awarded the “Rising Star of the US Travel Industry” in 2012 and 2013 by Travel Agent, being a member of the Advisory Membership Committee of USTOA from 2014-2016, and participating in two legislative caucuses in Washington D.C. as a tourism industry representative.
