Rosewood to Add Fourth Mexico Hotel in Puebla

pueblaRosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced it will open Rosewood Puebla in Mexico in 2016. The hotel will be the fourth property in Mexico for the Rosewood brand.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site 75 miles southeast of Mexico City, Puebla is known for its colonial architecture, traditional cuisine and colorful ceramics. Rosewood Puebla will have 79 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant with outdoor courtyard seating, the Lavaderos de Almoloya bar and a Sense spa, as well as a rooftop bar and swimming pool, and a 300-year-old chapel, which will be available to guests as a wedding venue.

The hotel will be near the city’s main square, the Zocalo, which is Puebla’s cultural, religious and political center.

The hotel will be designed by DAS Concepts, who will draw inspiration from the surrounding city famous for its architectural styles, ranging from Renaissance to Mexican Baroque. Wherever possible, traditional materials and methods of construction will be incorporated into the building. Throughout the property, Rosewood Puebla will highlight one of the city's greatest cultural treasures, Talavera pottery, from its classic beginnings to its most modern interpretations. It will also showcase furnishings and works from Mexican artists and craftspeople.
