The Ingenuity Behind SXSW’s Marketing to Present at ULTRA Trendsetters

Jann Baskett, chief brand officer for SXSW will headline a session at the inaugural ULTRA Trendsetters event, which will take place September 17-19 at The Driskill in Austin, TX. 

ULTRA Trendsetters, organized by Questex Travel Group, publishers of Luxury Travel Advisor and the thought leadership behind the annual ULTRA Summit, will focus on luxury travel, but will be geared towards the forward-thinking advisors and supplier brands that are changing the way we think about modern luxury. 

Baskett currently leads all brand and marketing activities for the famous SXSW event, best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. She is also partner in an Austin-based marketing agency called Foxtrot, who has worked with SXSW on its brand, digital user experience and interaction design since 2008. Prior to that, Baskett was principal at Austin branding agency, Milkshake and previously spent years in creative services and marketing for several magazines, including Texas Monthly (Austin), Details, Mademoiselle, and The New York Times Magazine Group in New York. She will present “Brand Building: How Iconic SXSW Stays Ahead of the Curve and Creates Trends” to all advisor and supplier attendees.

As part of the ULTRA Trendsetters experience, attendees will also be treated to Austin’s famous live music scene complete with hip food truck dining when they visit local favorite Antone’s, an iconic blues club home to legends such as Ray Charles, James Brown, and B.B. King. 

ULTRA Trendsetters will be an intimate luxury travel event that includes one-to-one appointments between advisors and suppliers, engaging presentations and discussions, hip networking functions, and thought-provoking educational content.
