The other day, I was talking with a colleague about an annual conference we attend together. I find these conferences to be useful in catching up with colleagues and vendors while learning about the latest tools and techniques. They are a great refresher on the latest marketing tactics as well as products I can use in next year’s marketing campaigns. In fact, the 2010 conference was where I found ideas on how to utilize social media for lead generation.
I attend events because they teach me to do my job better and help me be a better marketer. It also enables me to grow my network of contacts through networking. (And it doesn’t hurt that they have evening functions that are laid-back and conducive to simply letting loose.)
