The fourth annual young leaders conference
Three Package Options allow you to personalize your experience at LTX even further. Choose from Platinum, Gold, or new to 2013, the Pearl package. Each comes with its own host of benefits. If your goal is to shake hands with as many suppliers as possible, Gold is for you, with access to the Exchange floor and all education seminars. Platinum is the most valuable, with a minimum of 25 One-to-One appointments with luxury suppliers that take place right on the Exchange floor and access to all LTX has to offer. Pearl, the newly created package, combines extra networking opportunities with the ability to take the Exchange floor at your own pace to maximize relationships developed during LTX.

Our sister publication, Travel Agent magazine, recently co-hosted a familiarization trip for our 30Under30 advisors with the Barbados Tourism Authority, welcoming these young agents to personally experience all that the island of Barbados has to offer.

While a trip to Barbados may seem like an amazing perk for agents labeled as the rising stars in the travel advisor community, it wasn’t all play. We ventured to several resorts, taking in every aspect of each property so our young leaders could really get to know Barbados and sell it to their clients.

The fourth annual young leaders conference
The Fourth Annual Young Leaders Conference takes place the day prior to LTX—September 9. The full day education-based conference targets issues surrounding the under-40 Travel Advisor. YLC educates participants on how to tackle issues surrounding their business as well as how to grow their potential to be a true leader in the industry. Participants will leave with knowledge on how to leverage their youth as an advantage, and contacts and friendships for years to come. Registration includes a complimentary Gold pass to LTX. As you can imagine, each resort was stunning—we were able to see first-hand that Barbados is an ideal destination for all types of luxury travelers, whether they prefer a familiar brand or a more off-the-beaten-path escape. Of course, all properties offer sun and sand, but there are unique characteristics in each that lend them to a more specific type of traveler.

It was only after we all began chatting about each resort that we got to the core of what made each one truly special. Some were ideal for romance travelers, others for kids. Several were for the affluent clients who want only top-level accommodations wherever they go, while others were more appropriate for those who want to sink their toes into the sand and enjoy a Caribbean cocktail. It’s these types of insights that allow you to customize each itinerary based on your clients’ personalized needs.

For me, the most significant takeaway from this trip is the importance of one-on-one interaction with those hoteliers who deliver on the promises you make to your luxury clients. This very concept translates directly into the Luxury Travel Exchange format, which gives you eight minutes to get down to business with each global premium supplier you choose to meet with. This way, you get the most out of every minute and receive maximum return on your investment. To develop these same relationships, you would need to jet around the world. LTX brings all corners of the globe to you.
