Jumeirah's First European Resort Opens in Spain

Major news from Mallorca, Spain, where the Jumeirah Group opened its first European resort yesterday.

The Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa is located in the northwest of the island of Mallorca. The hotel has 120 rooms and suites, two restaurants, four bars, two swimming pools and the Talise Spa. (The spa, we hear, has ten treatment suites and a thermal area equipped with a Hammam, an ice room, a glass-panelled sauna overlooking the valley, a relaxation room with fireplace and an outdoor heated Hydropool.)

The resort is divided into 11 low-rise structures (so views are not interrupted wherever one wanders on the estate). There are also three terraces (one of which is reportedly ideal for watching sunsets while sampling cocktails and tapas). Families will appreciate the Barbaroja Kids Club, while teenagers and adults can try guided tours, cooking classes and yoga sessions. Other activities include diving, snorkeling and fishing: The hotel can arrange boat rentals to take guests to secluded beach coves.
