Aardvark Safaris Launches First Trans-Serengeti Balloon Safari

Aardvark Safaris has teamed up with Serengeti Balloon Safaris and Wayo Africa Fly Camps to offer travelers the opportunity to join the first-ever hot air balloon safari across the Serengeti National Park.

The new six-day safari adventure, November 1–7, 2023, starts and ends in Arusha and includes four nights of fly-camping where guests will be completely immersed in nature, sleeping under the night sky in star cocoon tents. Each morning, guests will be flown by hot air balloon to a new wilderness spot from where they can explore and discover the area with both walking safaris and traditional wildlife drives, escorted by guides.

Travelers can explore the Serengeti from both the ground and the skies. Highlights of this experience include panoramic views while flying up to 2,000 feet above the Serengeti and close-up wildlife encounters while flying at grass level. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the de-snaring team from Frankfurt Zoological Society, explore the cheetah-rich area of the Gol Kopjes, and enjoy a unique experience landing on the Eastern shores of Lake Victoria amid a community that has never before seen a hot air balloon.

Serengeti Balloon Safaris in Tanzania has flown over 250,000 guests in its 30-plus years of operations. Pricing includes all transfers, four nights’ full board fly-camping, two nights’ B&B at Rivertrees Inn Arusha, four extended balloon flights, guided walking and 4x4 safaris, all drinks on safari, guided activities in Arusha, and return internal flights from Arusha to Serengeti.
