Luxury cycling tour operator DuVine Cycling + Adventure Co. announced the launch of new itineraries across Europe. The popular “Chef on Wheels” Specialty trips have also expanded to South Africa with chef Seamus Mullen. In spring, DuVine will also debut a brand-new collection in the Mediterranean: Cycle + Sail, targeting travelers who seek a vacation that includes both boating and biking.

New 2019 Departures

South Africa Chef on Wheels Bike Tour: This six-day tour invites guests to ride the Western Cape and winelands at the height of the harvest with chef Mullen, whose cooking focuses on healthful interpretations of regional cuisine. Highlights include a traditional beach barbecue prepared in collaboration with South African celebrity chef Guy Clark, cycling on Chapman’s Peak Drive, and culinary-forward accommodations at Tintswalo Atlantic and Babylonstoren. March 3 to 8, 2019.

Andalucía Bike Tour:  A classic DuVine tour restyled. Beginning in Seville, guests will discover the cultural importance of sherry, sample tapas in typical taverns to the sound of flamenco, cycle through southern Spain’s medieval towns, and sleep in boutique hotels, such as La Donaira, with its own organic farm and vineyard. April 14 to 19, May 12 to 17, May 26 to 31, June 9 to 14, September 22 to 27 and October 13 to 18.

Champagne 4-Day Bike Tour: This shorter departure includes the best of DuVine’s essential Champagne itinerary, making it a good addition to travel plans in Paris. Venture into the cellars of Champagne houses in Reims and Épernay, including Moet & Chandon. Visit the village where Dom Perignon was founded and delve into this historic region at the Notre-Dame de Reims cathedral where French kings have been crowned for centuries. Canary Islands: For the serious cyclist in search of the ideal winter destination, the Canary Islands has cool temperatures, challenging mountain roads and no traffic. Centered on the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, this tour is about the climb. After each day’s ride, guests can relax and recover from their accomplishments with a massage from the soigneur and meals that put local ingredients at the center of the plate. January 13 to 18, February 10 to 15 and March 24 to 29.

DuVine will also unveil the Cycle + Sail collection. For both private and scheduled departures, these new tours are centered around the accommodations and amenities of a private yacht. The collection will launch in Turkey, Croatia, and Greece, with new destinations forthcoming.

Turkey Yacht + Bike Tour: Guests will sail the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, sleeping aboard a luxury Turkish gulet staffed with a private chef. Cycle to Turkish villages for demonstrations with local artisans and historic sites like the ancient ruin of Knidos, which honors the goddess Aphrodite.
