Extraordinary Journeys Expands Into Southeast Asia

Extraordinary Journeys has announced the launch of its newest expansion to select destinations across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The expansion into Southeast Asia reflects the company’s commitment to creating "unforgettable adventures" in the world’s most awe-inspiring destinations. Travelers can enjoy custom itineraries, privately guided excursions and out-of-the-box experiences.

Here are a few highlights:

“Vietnam from Mountains to Seas” – This 12-day journey goes beyond Vietnam’s traditional highlights, uncovering lesser-known regions. Explore lush Northern mountains, trek to remote hill tribe villages and unwind at a secluded coastal hideaway with crowd-free beaches and biodiverse reefs. A highlight of the journey includes a stop en-route to Mai Chau in the country’s northern reaches, where travelers will enjoy a kayaking adventure at a lake that’s off most people’s radar. Here, they can paddle out onto the mirrored surface, surrounded by forested hills and terraced rice fields and enjoy lunch in a local home before continuing on to Avana Retreat in the mountains outside of Mai Chau. The region is known for its trekking, alongside organic food and traditional Vietnamese remedies.

“Intrepid Southeast Asia” – This itinerary begins in Laos’ remote spiritual heartland, Luang Prabang. It’s a place shrouded by rainforest and steeped in tradition, where monks in marigold robes move silently through the quiet streets during a sacred morning ritual. Guests will meet families in traditional villages and be invited into the homes of locals who beam at the chance to share their culture. Next, you will explore Bangkok’s culinary scene on the back of a tuk-tuk. On your second day in the capital, you’ll avoid the standard circuits, letting an adopted friend take your hand for an insider-led experience. From there, travelers head to the Myeik Archipelago via a boat transfer across the Andaman Sea to enjoy a few days of barefoot luxury.

“Luxury Cambodia: Angkor to Islands” – This 12-day itinerary blends Cambodia’s iconic highlights with off-the-beaten-path experiences. Begin at Angkor Wat, where jungle-clad temples and stunning sunrises captivate, before exploring Siem Reap’s alleyways and Khmer cuisine. A highlight of the journey is a stay at Shinta Mani Wild, a 15-tent eco-luxury camp in the remote Cardamom Mountains. Travelers can enjoy personalized adventures, from kayaking Mangrove-lined channels and guided hikes to foraging, ziplining and jungle picnics. Unique experiences include bathing in secret swimming holes and joining conservation rangers on an anti-poaching survey via motorbike. Good to know: Each guest’s stay at Shinta Mani Wildd, which belongs to a collection of properties owned by architect, designer and conservationist Bill Bensley, contributes to the conservation of resident wildlife while creating employment for the local community.

Extraordinary Journeys’ launch into Southeast Asia underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices. Each itinerary is designed to ensure that travel dollars directly support local communities and conservation efforts in each destination.
