Last week Island Destinations held a grand gala at New York City's St Regis Hotel, where it unveiled its Travelers Collection 2012 brochure.
Among the 127 hotels, resorts, villas and private aviation services, this year's edition highlights Parrot Cay and COMO Shambhala Retreat on its cover. Other portfolio additions include Alila Villas Soori and Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali; Armani Hotel Dubai; Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in Hawaii; Mexico's La Casa Que Canta and Rosewood San Miguel de Allende; and Las Casitas Village in Puerto Rico and GoldenEye in Jamaica.
The luxury operator also made an announcement that it will open its first Asia-based office in Singapore, which will allow the company to delve deeper into the region. "We are thrilled to be opening our first office in Asia," said Maurice Bonham-Carter, president and CEO in a statement. "Not only will it allow us to hav our finger on the pulse in this market, but we will have the tremendous opportunity to assist in promoting the value of travel to this region of the world."
This gala was the first of 11 coast-to-coast forums and the company will wrap up on November 16 in San Diego.
