Naya Traveler has announced the launch of private, tailor-made luxury trips to Guatemala and Belize, which began in October. Here’s what travelers can expect:
Colors of Guatemala: Culture, Heritage & Natural Wonders
Though small in size, Guatemala—meaning “place of many trees” in ancient K’iche Mayan—is home to natural beauty, architectural marvels, enticing flavors and intact cultural heritage. Volcanoes, lakes, forests and jungles, as well as Pacific lowlands and the Caribbean coastline set the stage for a journey through the depths of ancient Mayan civilization, the relics of colonial rule and a fusion of aboriginal culture.
Destinations include Antigua, Lago Atitlan, Chichicastenango and Tikal with an optional extension to Rio Dulce. Guests will partake in such activities as a heritage walk of Antigua’s colonial landmarks, visiting a traditional textiles craft workshop, a guided visit of Chichicastenango’s market, a culinary workshop of ancient Mayan and Guatemalan dishes, a religious ceremony of Maximon, a boat tour of Lake Atitlan and a guided visit to Tikal National Park.
Under-the-Radar Belize: Leisure, Active, Culture
Belize is one of those inconspicuous destinations that holds surprises at the turn of every corner, Naya Travler says. Travelers can choose to include hikes and tubing through the inland jungle reserves, exploring ancient Mayan remains and trekking through underground cave networks in Cayo and Mountain Pine Ridge; snorkeling and diving to spot nurse sharks, sea turtles and rays across the Barrier Reef; Quaint Garifuna village life in the pastel-colored streets of Placencia; bask in the white sands of the Northern Cayes, and a private flight over the Great Blue Hole. Guests can also enjoy horseback riding in the hills of Southern Belize.
Destinations include Placencia, the Great Blue Hole, Mountain Pine Ridge and Cayo Espanto with an optional extension for Tikal.
Pricing for both itineraries includes all accommodations, domestic airfare, transportation, host and expert guides, daily activities and excursions in private, some meals, and services of an on-call operational team monitoring the trip 24/7. International airfare is not included.
