Red Savannah Launches New Sabbaticals Division

Luxury tour operator Red Savannah has launched a sabbatical travel division in response to growing client demand for longer, more immersive travel experiences.

The travel company has seen a significant increase in demand for sabbatical travel since 2019, with this trend further accelerating in a post-pandemic world. With the launch of this new division, Red Savannah now offers clients the expertise of dedicated specialists to craft personalized sabbatical itineraries that reflect individual preferences, passions, fitness levels, intellectual curiosity and family dynamics.

A key part of the sabbatical planning process with Red Savannah is an in-depth consultation, where a specialist will delve deeper into a client’s motivations for taking a sabbatical. These motivations might include the opportunity to embark on a "once-in-a-lifetime" physical challenge; gaining immersion into the culture of distant lands; exploring the wilderness; and offsetting the impact of burnout with a wellness-themed journey.

Throughout the consultation process, one or more of these motivators tends to emerge above others. Red Savannah’s sabbaticals specialist then makes recommendations on how to weave these into a carefully balanced journey, considering the time of year the client wishes to travel, and the amount of time they can allocate to the journey.

Some travelers may also feel motivated to incorporate a philanthropic element to their sabbatical. Red Savannah has long-standing connections with charitable initiatives across the world and can facilitate opportunities to “give back” as part of a client’s sabbatical journey.

Red Savannah can design sabbaticals of any duration, from three weeks right up to an entire year or more. Additionally, extended family members can join part of the journey if a client is celebrating a special occasion along the way.
