Emirates Adds Flights to Mauritius

Emirates has announced plans to increase frequencies to Mauritius starting October 1, 2022. An additional evening frequency will operate until January 31, 2023. The third daily flight will boost seat capacity to and from Mauritius by approximately 35 percent, catering to the surge in demand and providing added support to the tourism industry during one of the busiest travel seasons.

Emirates’ third daily flight to Mauritius will be operated by Flight EK709, which will depart Dubai at 10:10 p.m. and arrive in Mauritius at 4:45 a.m. Flight EK710 will depart Mauritius at 6:30 a.m. and arrive in Dubai at 1:05 p.m.

The added frequency supplements the existing double-daily Airbus A380 services and will also offer customers traveling to Mauritius with the choice of an early morning arrival at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in addition to the existing EK0701 service, which arrives mid-morning, and EK 0703, which arrives in the early evening. Travelers departing Mauritius will also have choice to connect through Dubai to Emirates’ global network of 130 destinations. All three daily flights offer codesharing with Air Mauritius to allow for a seamless travel experience to and from the island nation.

In May this year, Emirates renewed its MoU with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) aimed at jointly promoting the island nation across its global network.

Besides carrying more passengers, Emirates’ third-daily flight between Dubai and Mauritius will provide around 30 to 40 tons of cargo belly-hold capacity for businesses, further opening global trade lanes via enhanced import and export opportunities. The airline launched operations to Mauritius in September 2002 with three weekly flights and is in its 20th year of operations to the Indian Ocean destination.
