Etihad Airways to Increase Frequency Between NYC and Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways has announced that it is increasing connectivity between the U.S. and the U.A.E. by going double-daily on its popular New York route. From April 24, 2023, the airline will fly twice a day, seven days a week, on the Abu Dhabi–New York route, providing a total of 14 weekly nonstop services to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The airline will deploy both Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which burn significantly less fuel, meaning less CO2 emissions than previous-generation twin aisle aircraft.

The increased frequency offers passengers access to connections beyond New York, to and from 47 destinations throughout the Americas, with Etihad’s codeshare partner JetBlue.

The Abu Dhabi–New York flight schedule is as follows:

  • Flight EY101 departs Abu Dhabi at 10:25 a.m., arriving into New York at 4:40 p.m.; and flight EY100 departs New York at 10:40 p.m., arriving into Abu Dhabi at 7:30 p.m. the following day.
  • Flight EY103 departs Abu Dhabi at 3:10 a.m., arriving into New York at 9:25 a.m.; flight EY102 departs New York at 2:30 p.m., arriving into Abu Dhabi at 11:20 a.m. the following day.

Passengers can offset their flights with Etihad’s green loyalty program. Conscious Choices gives travelers Tier Miles and additional benefits for carrying less baggage onboard and offsetting their flights’ carbon emissions using Etihad Guest Miles.

With 14 flights per week to New York-JFK, and daily services to Chicago and Washington, Etihad will offer a total of 28 weekly services this summer between Abu Dhabi and the United States.

The news comes as Etihad unveils further growth in its global network with the re-launch of flights to Kolkata as well as offering travelers improved access to India and the GCC region.
