Big news out of London. The old Midland Bank headquarters, a landmark which dates to 1925 and inspired the James Bond film “Goldfinger,” is being transformed into The Ned. A joint partnership between the Soho House Group and Sydell Group, the new hotel will have 252 guest rooms decorated with brass and mahogany furniture, a Cowshed spa with eight treatment rooms, an expansive gym, nine destination restaurants, “grooming facilities,” and a rooftop pool with views on St Paul’s Cathedral.

There will also be a private member’s club, Ned’s Cub, which hotel guests can also access during their stay. Ned’s Club Upstairs will have the Canopy Bar, situated in one of the building’s famous domes, while Ned’s Club Downstairs will have the Vault Room Lounge Bar, located behind the vault door made famous in “Goldfinger.”

Located on the corner of Poultry Street and Princes Street, The Ned is slated to open in early 2017. We except this to be one of the hottest hotel openings of the year.
