Upcoming Top-Tier Turkey Hotels

Turkey is attracting some top-notch hotels lately. Here’s a quick rundown on some properties slated to open this year and beyond.

The St. Regis Istanbul is expected to open this summer in the Nişantaşi neighborhood on the European side of the city, which has plenty of chic boutiques, restaurants, cafes, the Istanbul Congress Center and Taksim Square. We hear that the hotel, which was designed by award-winning Turkish architect Emre Arolat, will overlook the Bosphorus. Special features include a 2,000 square foot presidential suite, butler service, a rooftop restaurant, lobby bar, spa, a business center along with meeting rooms and a ballroom.

A new Four Seasons Hotel is schedulded to open in 2016 in Cesme, near Alacati. The Aegean town, located on the coast of Turkey's Izmir province, is popular for its vineyards and therapeutic thermal springs. The Four Seasons Resort Cesme will also provide access to historic sites (think the ancient city of Ephesus) as well as some of the world's top windsurfing and kitesurfing spots.

The 210-room Fairmont Istanbul, slated to open in 2016, will be part of the Quasar Istanbul complex, a new mixed-use development in the Sisli district.  Two 41-story towers will include a Fairmont Hotel and Fairmont Residences as well as Quasar Residences and offices. Cool touches: The hotel will have the Fairmont Gold, the brand’s ‘hotel within a hotel’ and will offer a several lounges and restaurants, 6,562 square feet of function space and a Willow Stream Spa. There's also a historic distillery repurposed as a culture, fashion and arts center for special events, and an urban park and recreation area.
