EAST Miami: Swire Hotels’ First Foray into the US Market

EAST Miami

Not only is the real estate on fire in Miami, but the hotel scene also keeps getting hotter and hotter. Last year we heard that Swire Hotels-- the Hong Kong-based brand behind such swank hotels as The Opposite House, Beijing, The Upper House in Hong Kong, and the soon-to-open Temple House in Chengdu-- would bring its East brand to Miami. Yesterday the company issued the official announcement about the 2015 debut of EAST, Miami at Brickell City Centre, the $1.5 billion mixed-use development in the downtown Brickell district. This is Swire’s first property in the U.S., and the third for the EAST brand.

For its design, Swire Hotels enlisted Arquitectonica, the acclaimed architecture firm, along with Clodagh Design for the interiors. There will be 263 guest rooms and 89 luxury apartments called the EAST Residences, designed to be like long-stay hotel rooms with kitchens. All will come with floor-to-ceiling windows, free wifi, and intuitive technology (like a panel to adjust the room’s mood lighting). Mirroring the other EAST hotels, the vibe is described as "contemporary and fun." Facilities will include meeting facilities, a 24-hour fitness center, spa rooms, two restaurants, a poolside lounge, and a rooftop bar. Expect the outdoor pool deck to become a sought-after destination for private parties. For more information, visit www.swirehotels.com
