Exciting news for shoppers in New Orleans this spring: Nola.com is reporting that the renovated Riverwalk will reopen May 22, completing the $70 million refurbishment of the aging mall.
The ceremony will be Thursday, May 22, at 9:30 a.m. in Spanish Plaza followed by a weekend of festivities. The Riverwalk is located along the Mississippi River at the base of Canal and Poydras streets.

According to the site, anchor retailers will include a Coach Factory Store, Coach Men's Factory Store and a Last Call Studio by Neiman Marcus. Other stores include a Guess Factory Store, a Kenneth Cole Company Store, Lucky Brand and several restaurants.
Speaking of while, while the bar and grill sounds very nice, we're excited by the Cafe du Monde—a New Orleans institution famous for its beignets, coffee and history. (The original coffee shop dates back to 1862.)
