Virgin America Expands Flight Service to Palm Springs

Virgin America, the California-based airline, has announced it is expanding its service to Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) with a new weekly nonstop flight from JFK to PSP. The new service will add to Virgin America’s existing seasonal daily connecting flight schedule from JFK to PSP and its daily nonstop schedule from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to PSP.

The seasonal service will continue from October 18 to April, 30, 2013. The new nonstop flight will begin December 22.

Since launching from its homebase in San Francisco, Virgin America has flown nearly 13 million passengers, expanded its fleet to a projected 52 aircraft by mid-2012, and launched new service to key markets including Orlando, Dallas/Fort Worth, Cancun, and Chicago in the last year alone. In July 2011, the airline became the first to capture Travel & Leisure World’s Best Award for “Best Domestic Airline” in each of its first four years of flying. The carrier also won “Best Overall Guest Service” in the June 2011 World Airline Awards.
