Park Hyatt is having a moment, and Mexico City is its next chapter. The brand has tapped Christophe Hilty as general manager of Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco, the luxury hotel slated to open in early 2027 in one of the capital's most coveted neighborhoods.
Hilty will steer the property through its pre-opening journey, bringing more than 25 years of international luxury hospitality experience to Park Hyatt's forthcoming Mexico City debut. His mandate covers operational readiness, team recruitment, culture development and market positioning, with an emphasis on the highly personalized service and residentially inspired elegance that define the brand.
The appointment lands at a high point for Park Hyatt. The brand reopened its iconic Tokyo flagship in December 2025 following a 19-month restoration — the most comprehensive renewal in the property's 30-year history — and has a run of high-profile debuts on the horizon, including this Mexico City project and Park Hyatt Phu Quoc, the brand's first resort in Vietnam, expected later in 2026.
Set in Polanco near Chapultepec Park, Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco is envisioned as an expression of modern urban luxury, where architecture, art, design and intuitive service come together. Designed by SOMA as a unified vision for the full 30-story building, the project brings together the hotel and Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco Residences within one expression of contemporary luxury.
The residences, a limited collection of 27 private homes within the same tower, complement the hotel experience with an elevated expression of private living, personalized service and deep connection to Polanco. Spanning six distinct home typologies, they reflect the same discretion, sophistication and thoughtful design that shape every aspect of the project.
Hilty arrives with a résumé built across some of the world's most celebrated ultra-luxury brands. His career spans multiple tenures with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts — across Riyadh, Los Angeles, London and the Seychelles — as well as the Dorchester Collection's 45 Park Lane in London, Le Richemond in Geneva, and an opening general manager appointment at Cheval Blanc Paris, LVMH's flagship urban hotel. Most recently, he served as vice president of global operations at CORE: New York, overseeing the member experience and operations of the renowned Fifth Avenue private club.
"Mexico City is one of the world's great capitals — layered, expressive, and deeply human," said Hilty. "We are building something extraordinary here, a hotel that honors the city's heritage, elevates its contemporary spirit, and delivers an unmatched level of personalized service that turns a stay into something far more meaningful."
"Christophe brings an exceptional understanding of luxury hospitality and the cultural nuance required to bring a landmark property to life," added Laurent Ebzant, area vice president, general manager, Hyatt Regency Mexico City. "His leadership will be instrumental as Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco prepares to welcome guests and introduce a new expression of personalized luxury in Mexico City."
Upon opening, the hotel will welcome guests into a composed, highly personal hospitality experience — an address shaped not by spectacle, but by the confidence, warmth and nuance of the capital itself.
