TEFAF Announces Dates for New York and Maastricht Editions

Following two years of lockdown, two TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) fairs are returning this year, besides several other upcoming art fairs that includes Frieze New York (May 18-22) and Art Basel (June 16-19). The European Fine Art Foundation, established in 1988, is popular for showcasing fine art, antiques and design. TEFAF runs two fairs internationally: TEFAF New York, which focuses on modern and contemporary art and design; and TEFAF Maastricht in the Netherlands, which covers 7,000 years of art history.

For those looking to stay in the U.S., TEFAF New York is an art lover’s ideal getaway. Taking over the Park Avenue Armory from May 6-10, 2022, the event returns to New York City for the first time since 2019, giving art enthusiasts, collectors, design professionals and museum curators the chance to experience curated spaces in-person within the period rooms of the Armory. This year, 91 galleries from around the world will participate in the fair, presenting modern and contemporary art, jewelry, antiquities and design. Exhibitor stands will flow throughout the Armory’s landmark building encompassing the Wade Thompson Drill Hall and extending to both the first and second floors of the Armory’s period rooms.

TEFAF Maastricht will celebrate its 35th anniversary this year from June 25-30 at MECC Maastricht. The fair will feature around 280 dealers from 22 countries, convening dealers and galleries from across the globe to showcase a range of masterpieces across multiple collecting areas on the market. The event will feature “Old Master” paintings, antiques, fine and decorative arts, furniture, modern and contemporary art, ceramics, glass, silver, textiles, tapestries, antiquities, jewelry, sculpture, books, manuscripts, arms and armor, Asian art, and oceanic and ethnographic art, among others.
