Virtuoso Launches Advisor Recruitment Program for Member Agencies

On the same day that The Travel Institute released research saying that the travel industry needs to focus on enticing people to become advisors and prepare them for a lifelong career in the industry, Virtuoso launched its “Virtuoso Advisor Recruitment Program.” Designed to assist its member agencies in connecting with and hiring qualified luxury travel advisors, the program was developed to aid agencies experiencing talent shortages and welcomes advisors outside the Virtuoso network to apply, including those who are newer to the industry. Small agencies can also use the tool to find a larger host agency. Advisor applications are inputted into a database, where proprietary technology matches participating member agencies with advisors based on respective needs, niches and available job openings.

The “Virtuoso Advisor Recruitment Program” was soft-launched in the United States in February; since then, 37 member agencies have enrolled in the program, with 16 advisor placements successfully executed. Starting June 8, the program will be available in Australia and New Zealand, where 22 regional agencies have already confirmed their participation.

All advisors hired via the recruitment program are required to complete the Virtuoso Certified Travel Advisor (VCTA) course, an elite qualification designed to fast-track the development of those who are new to the travel advising profession. VCTA also serves as a resource for experienced advisors who recently joined the Virtuoso network, as it lays the groundwork for establishing a solid career path in the luxury travel market segment. VCTA graduates sell an average of 83 percent more than their peers.
