Amanyara Reopens Following Seasonal Closure, Unveils Reno

Amanyara in Turks and Caicos has reopened after a seasonal closure. Set on the shores of a 7,200-hectare nature reserve on the island of Providenciales, the resort’s reopening unveiled a complete refurbishment of its communal spaces, including its reception, restaurants and beach club, plus select villas.

Amanyara’s newly refreshed entrance pavilion sets the tone for every stay. Landscape architect Raymond Jungles has transformed the entrance to the resort, with large mahogany trees now lining the turning circle, while the resort’s central tranquility ponds offer new lounge furniture. Wooden backgammon and chess boards add to the space, with the open-plan layout reconfigured to allow for enhanced privacy. A new pathway between the entrance pavilion and the kitchen also welcomes a casual dining area, perfect for enjoying an afternoon apéritif. The Beach Club has also been upgraded, with multi-level decking shaded by new pergolas. The bar now has an enhanced focus on contemporary mixology, including a new drinks menu. The resort’s kitchens have been upgraded, as well, to incorporate a specially designed and dedicated space for preparing kosher cuisine (opening in 2024).

In addition to common spaces, three of the resort’s private villas have undergone renovations. The multi-bedroom villas have new facilities and outdoor living spaces.

Located on a private lakefront, Villa 14 has been fully refurbished, with the addition of a private pathway leading guests directly to a new yoga pavilion. With all three bedrooms offering lakefront lounging areas or views, the refurbishment has seen the addition of an exclusively designed water feature to the private tranquility pond.

Villa 8, a four-bedroom Tranquility Villa, has also undergone a complete refurbishment of the interior living space and expansive outdoor terrace space, complete with infinity-edge swimming pool. The resort tapped international designer Boris Mathias, of Chapi Chapo Design, for the project. The bedrooms each include an en-suite bathroom with a deep soaking bathtub. The garden and terrace area now has a large jacuzzi and a fire pit, creating two new areas for socializing al fresco.

Amanyara’s signature villa, the Artists Villa, enjoys its own stretch of white sand beach. The five-bedroom villa offers three acres of private gardens, with a 108-foot infinity pool overlooking the sea. Complementing the sundecks, multiple al fresco dining areas and recording studio, a new private wellness and fitness area has been added to the Artists Villa. This includes a gym, steam room and cold plunge pool.
