Banyan Tree Group has announced the opening of Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui following a rebranding of the resort on Thailand’s island of Koh Samui. It is the latest addition to the new Garrya brand of wellbeing-centric hotels by the group. Following multiple phases of remodeling and refurbishment, Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui joins Garrya Huzhou Lucun and Garrya Xi’an Lintong in China, and Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto in Japan.
Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui sits on 28 acres of tropical land which includes a long stretch of sandy beach frontage on the north-eastern side of the island. The resort’s suites and villas offer views of the Gulf of Thailand, while curated spaces and the 8lements Spa contribute to an overall sense of well-being. All 82 suites and villas at the resort are set on a hillside overlooking a secluded bay. Seventy-four suites and villas have a signature outdoor bath with a view and offer a range of family-friendly configurations.
Open for breakfast and dinner, Rhoy Rhoy! at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui serves Thai cuisine with a courtyard with sea views. The beachfront Fish Tales offers a casual lunch and dinner experience. Evol serves nutritionally balanced and wholesome meals, including vegan options. Guests can also customize their culinary experience from a candlelit dinner on the beach to in-villa BBQ served on the terrace, complete with a bespoke menu and a personal chef and attendant.
8lements Spa has spa cottages equipped with two massage beds, a separate treatment area for Thai massages, outdoor relaxation area, steam room and an open-air bathtub for floral or milk baths. Other facilities include the adults-only Half Moon Pool, one of the resort’s two swimming pools, an Exercise Room, Kids’ Club and a 24-hour co-working space.
The property is a 15-minute drive from Samui International Airport. Nearby attractions include shops, food stalls, restaurants and bars at Fisherman’s Village and Chaweng Beach. The brand’s signature sustainability-focused experiences will help guests discover local ecosystems, with island-hopping expeditions to Mu Koh Ang Thong National Marine Park; day trips to the islands of Koh Taen and Koh Matsum for snorkeling amid coral reefs; and hikes to the Na Muang Waterfalls.
Deal: Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui is celebrating its debut with the “Opening Offer” that runs until January 31, 2023 for stays between December 15, 2022 and June 30, 2023. It is also offering an “Exclusive Wellbeing Package” (three nights) with a 10 percent discount from the best available rates for a stay in a Wellbeing Pool Villa plus special inclusion during the stay.
