A champion has been crowned! The recently opened Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets has earned the coveted title of The Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World for 2024. This year's runner up is Patina Maldives.
A look back: To start the contest, we pitted 64 hotels from across the world against each other in a bracket-style tournament. Even making it into the official tournament came with some commendation, as we received about 400 nominations for consideration. The hotels were then separated into four regional brackets—North America; Latin America and the Caribbean; Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Asia, Indian Ocean and South Pacific. Readers voted in the matchups and the winner of each round moved on to face its new competition.
The adults-only Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets—the representative of the "Western Hemisphere" (the combined North America and Latin America and the Caribbean brackets)—received more and more votes with each round, eventually taking down Patina Maldives—the representative for the "Eastern Hemisphere" (the combined Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia, Indian Ocean and South Pacific brackets) in the final round by an impressive tally of 128,305 votes to 96,254.
In all, more than 320,000 votes were cast across all matchups in all rounds. The Finals, like many of the contests, was a very close race, with the champion receiving 57.14 percent of the vote. Prior to their appearances in the finals, Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets, then representing the Latin America and Caribbean bracket, defeated The Greenbrier, winner of the North America bracket, while Asia, Indian Ocean and South Pacific rep Patina Maldives emerged victorious in its matchup with Europe, Middle East and Africa champ Lemala Mpingo Ridge.

Earning Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets the title of The Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World for 2024 is this shot from the all-inclusive, adults-only resort's rooftop infinity pool. Here, guests can enjoy serene views (particularly at sunset) while relaxing in the pool, sunken lounge spaces or daybeds.

- Sweet 16: Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets defeated Viceroy Riviera Maya 1,405 (66.3 percent) to 714 (33.7 percent)
- Round 2: Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets defeated Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort 381 (78.72 percent) to 103 (21.28 percent)
- Round 1: Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets defeated Zemi Beach House, LXR Hotels & Resorts 200 (67.8 percent) to 95 (32.2 percent)
The Runner-Up
Patina Maldives
Twice winning a round's highest-scoring contest, as well as some of the closest throughout the entire tournament, Patina Maldives earns the runner-up title this year. What voters loved: Floor-to-ceiling windows slide back to open up these one-bedroom villas at the resort, allowing guests to take in horizon views that are interrupted by nothing other than the gentle ripples of the lagoon. - Elite Eight: Patina Maldives defeated W Osaka in this round's highest-scoring contest 5,765 (54.76 percent) to 4,763 (45.24 percent)
- Sweet 16: Patina Maldives defeated The Anam Mui Ne 1,449 (82.14 percent) to 315 (17.86 percent)
- Round 2: Patina Maldives defeated NIHI Sumba in this round's highest-scoring matchup 2,727 (52.82 percent) to 2,436 (47.18 percent); it was also one of the closest contests in Round 2
- Round 1: Patina Maldives defeated Southern Ocean Lodge 305 (76.06 percent) to 96 (23.94 percent)
