Craft Beers Get the Spotlight in New York City Festival

We are right in the middle of New York City's ever-popular Restaurant Week (which has expanded to almost a month, but we won't complain), and while foodies are luxuriating in haute-cuisine at reasonable prices ($25 for lunch, $38 for dinner), those looking for a different kind of indulgence have a different kind of festival to try.

The NYC Brewers Guild has organized ten days of special events—New York City Beer Week (again, not technically a week, but we're still not complaining)—that kicked off this past weekend and continue through this coming Sunday, March 2. And since craft beers can be found all over town, venues throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn will host tastings and meals, so be sure to go exploring.

As city website Gothamist notes, over a hundred Beer Week-sanctioned events including tastings, menu pairings, and beer dinners will take place citywide. (We're intrigued by the BBQ Beer Pairing at Brooklyn's Beast of Bourbon on Myrtle Avenue. Some meals just require a good brew.)

Good to know: The Brewers Guild has released a guide and a calendar to help beer fans find their perfect pint and event.
